GeoD Lab is dedicated to exploring the fundamental processes operating inside and on the surface of the Earth, with a primary focus on the lithosphere. Led by Dr. Utsav Mannu (Assistant Professor, Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Gandhinagar), our team leverages a combination of physics-based and statistical tools to advance the frontiers of Earth science research.

The Challenges We Tackle

GeoD Lab addresses some of the most pressing challenges in Earth sciences, with a focus on decoding the mechanisms behind earthquakes, landslides, and tsunamis; improving the statistical understanding of seismic hazards for better risk assessment and forecasting; revealing the hidden structure and evolution of the Earth's interior through seismic data interpretation; and advancing predictive capabilities in geoscience by integrating multidisciplinary approaches and developing novel tools.

Through these efforts, we strive to bridge fundamental research with practical applications, contributing to safer societies and a deeper appreciation of our dynamic planet.
